The streets of Mokopane – Limpopo

I could write a 3 paged blog post about Mokopane and its beauty but it all comes down to the people. I can fairly say the people of Mokopane are the kindest and most jovial people to work with. My stay in Limpopo was an amazing one entirely because of the countless smiles that I received (this includes the kind questions I was asked like “have you eaten yet? [lol!]”).

On our departure, I had a chance to capture the streets of Mokopane with Wakhe Dzingwe… Your destiny awaits.

Dj’s at the taxi rank

I wanted to make a blog post out of a series of photographs that I shot at the taxi rank but y’know what, I’m sick today… Got the flu. This is a blog post anyway, so I’ll just go with it.

Kind of rare that you shoot a group of dj’s at a Taxi Rank (at night!). Well, I did it anyway.

Newtown Vintage & B/W session

This one time, I was walking around Newtown, JHB. Looking at all the African history painted on those vintage walls; it holds the whole emotional story of the old South Africa and the whole place is just like an eloquent piece of poetry. Gosh! I wish I had the ability to write poetry (or good english to start with)… Luckily, I can express all these emotions through photography.

And, and, aaaand prior to this, I had to listen to a lot of tracks by The Soil, for inspiration. Track 1: Unspoken Words – Before the shoot & Track 8: Before – While editing (Nolstalgic Moments album)

Thanks to my models and friends, Ayanda Sands & Steve Khumalo…

1 Corinthians 13

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
